Processing Faculty Into a Permanent Position

  1. Completed Employee Record (ER)
  2. Chair Letter
  3. Copy of Offer Letter
  4. Completed University of Pittsburgh Affirmative Action Summary Form
  5. Justification letter if only one person applied or interviewed for position (if applicable)
  6. Copy of the approved position
  7. Updated curriculum vitae
  8. 3-4 letters of recommendation are required if placing into a tenure stream position at the assistant professor level

THE COMPLETED EMPLOYEE RECORD (ER) MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH ORIGINAL AND ONE COPY OF ALL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION

NOTE: FOR APPOINTMENTS AT THE RANK OF ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR AND PROFESSOR, REVIEW/APPROVAL BY THE APPROPRIATE SOM COMMITTEE (TENURE COMMITTEE OR NON-TENURE COMMITTEE) MUST BE ACCOMPLISHED THEN THE ABOVE PROCEDURE SHOULD BE FOLLOWED TO FINALIZE THE APPOINTMENT - SEE: PROCEDURE FOR FACULTY APPOINTMENTS.
